Our Horse Section

In the Mares and Foals section, we start our classes with the Irish Draught Mare class, followed by our Irish Draught Foal class. We have our Lightweight Brood Mare Class which has €1030.00 prize fund plus the Donnellan Bros Perpetual Challange cup. Another highlight to this section this year is the Horse Sport Ireland & United Metal Champion Broodmare with a prize fund of €2500.00. Our prize money has also been increased this year throughout the Mare & Foal and Young Horse classes. Our Colt and Filly Foal classes have a prize fund of €375.00 in each class.

In our Young Horses section our Yearling Colt or Geldings and Yearling Fillies will have a prize fund of €450.00 in each class.They will also compete for the Casey Meaney & Talty Stores Champion Yearling with a Prize fund of €350.00.  The Champion Two year old and Three year olds will also compete for the Casey Meaney & Talty Stores Champion 2yr old and 3yr old with a prize fund of €350.00 for both classes. The 3yr Old classes will have a Prize Fund of €650 in each class Supported by The Department of Agriculture and Horse Sport Ireland.

The highlight of the Young Horse Clases is the Supreme Champion of Champions, which is selected from the Champion and Reserve Yearlings, Two year olds, and three year olds and the overall winner will receive the spectacular Kieran O'Sullivan Perpetual Cup and €1000.00, Reserve €250.00 and Merit €100.00 very kindly sponsored by our loyal supporter John O'Sullivan of Dublin Coach.

We also host the Kildysart Two Year Old Filly All Ireland Final (for qualified fillies only) sponsored by Banner Contractors, Clare Oil Ltd and Kildysart Show Society with a €3500.00 prize fund. We will finish off the Show with our Horse and Pony Lunging classes with a prize fund of €780.00.

We also have Qualifiers for the Bantry Munster I.D Foal, Colt Foal All-Ireland at Clarecastle, The A.Browne Filly Foal at Moate and the Limerick Lady Championship.

This Year to Celebrate the 80th Show in Kildysart we have a very impressive Horse Section with Fantastic Prize Money.
